MEET AURA

Aura Star Heights has gathered a wealth of experience within the equestrian world and was given the privilege to learn and be instructed by renowned horsemen such as Bernie Traurig, Tom Brennan, and George Morris. Aura also was a long term student and worker for Long Island, NY Sportsmanship award winner, Chuck Rocco! Aura pursued further knowledge outside of riding, by attending and graduating from Emory & Henry College, the top equestrian school in the U.S, with two bachelor degree’s in Equine Science and English.

Growing up without financial privileges, the beginning of Aura’s riding career consisted of riding horses and ponies that many would consider “problematic”. She developed a love for special cases and focused her time into learning how to connect with the horse’s she’s riding on a level beyond the saddle. Her first horse was a buckskin Mustang, that she bought for a measly $350 from a kill pen. She affectionately named him Storm due to his unpredictable and stormy personality. This horse was deemed dangerous by many as his aggression issues easily scared off those around him, but Aura was not deterred and she was determined to win him over! This little buckskin became her winning hunter and equitation mount for many years! Mustang’s hold a big place in her heart and she enjoys every mustang that comes through her doors.

 

Aura spent most of her career in the Hamptons of NY were she was a full time rider and trainer for one of the biggest and well esteemed show barns on the island. She trained everything from the largest warmbloods to the smallest of ponies and brought along students of various levels ranging from short stirrup through the big eq! To escape the frigid cold and be closer to some of the most prominent competition grounds, Aura made the move to Florida where she continues her training program and pursues her competition goals!
